From Columbia County to the World Stage
Chatham High School is a small rural school where 42% of students qualify for free-reduced lunch. We have declining enrollment and fewer than 90 students per graduating class. Most teams we compete against come from districts 5-10x our size with dedicated tech labs and corporate sponsors.
But here's what sets us apart: We refuse to charge students to participate. Every meal, every shirt, every travel expense is covered. Because talent shouldn't be limited by a student's or district's tax base.
2025 World Championship Run
Last season, we won the Tech Valley Regional, earning our spot at the World Championship in Houston. At Worlds, we led our alliance to the highest-scoring match in our entire division and narrowly lost to the alliance that eventually won the division finals.
For a team of our size, from a district of our resources, that's not just success. That's unheard of.
Now we're building the next generation: we've established an FTC team at our middle school and a Lego League program at the Morris Memorial Center. Over 20 students are currently on our team, and we're growing.
